Mira Buerk

  I am currently working as an undergraduate research assistant in the Spence Lab under Jon Villanueva, where I study mechanisms of intestinal repair in response to various forms of damage, including chemical and microbial stressors. My work involves maintaining intestinal organoid cultures and using molecular techniques to analyze changes in gene expression associated with epithelial injury and regeneration. I am particularly interested in understanding how cellular responses to damage contribute to tissue repair and disease.
